"The Jukebox Hour"
Take a trip through the decades with the show that features Rock & Roll, Soul, Rockabilly, Blues, Rhythm & Blues Folk, Psychedelic Rock and Classic Rock .
The idea behind the programme is to see or rather hear music from the past five decades as an ongoing development. One syle often leading to and merging with others to become a new genre as with Rock & Roll becoming more electrified and amplified towards the mid sixties and developing into Rock & Psychedelic Rock then Stadium Rock - Punk- Hard Rock-Heavy Metal and so on.
Also remembering the singers and groups of yesteryear and their ongoing influence today. An eclectic mix with nostalga and pop trivia thrown in as well!.
Why the Jukbox hour ? it might be said that Jukeboxs such as Wurlitzers, Seeburgs & Rock- Ola's were the ipods or mp3 players of their day the first interface where people could press to play and choose to hear new songs or old favourites and to create their own playlists. The Jukebox also is synonymous with the Rock & Roll era and the arrival of disc jockeys.
